Scope and contribution DDSS welcomes original theoretical, empirical, methodological, and critical articles on decolonial thought, digital technologies, and the social sciences. Explain the central question, contribution, and relevance to the journal. Submissions are accepted throughout the year. There are no submission or publication fees.
Editorial assessment All submissions are assessed by editors. DDSS does not use external peer review. Editors may decline work outside the scope, request revisions, or accept work for copyediting and production. Acceptance is not guaranteed.
Preparing your manuscript Submit in English as an editable DOCX, ODT, or RTF file. Include a concise title, an informative abstract, keywords, the main text, references, and any tables or figures with captions. Provide author names, affiliations where applicable, and a corresponding email in the submission form. An ORCID identifier may be provided if available. No fixed word limit is imposed at this stage; length should be proportionate to the contribution.
Structure and references Use clear headings. Empirical work should explain methods, context, and limitations; theoretical work should make its argument and sources explicit. Use a consistent author-date reference style. Every in-text citation must have a matching reference, and every reference must be cited. Include verified DOIs or stable links where available; do not invent identifiers.
Ethics and disclosures Disclose funding, conflicts of interest, relevant ethics approval, and consent procedures. Explain any restrictions on sharing data. Obtain permission for third-party material. All listed authors must have contributed and approved the submission. Do not submit work simultaneously under consideration elsewhere; disclose related publications and any preprint.
Generative AI Disclose substantive AI use in writing, analysis, code, or images, including the tool and purpose. AI cannot be an author. Authors remain responsible for accuracy, references, originality, confidentiality, and permissions. Do not upload confidential research material to AI services without authorization.
After acceptance Authors may be asked to revise, check copyedited text, and approve proofs. Accepted work is prepared for continuous publication. Authors retain copyright and articles are published under CC BY 4.0, permitting sharing and adaptation, including commercial use, with attribution, a license link, and an indication of changes.
